How to Build a Supplier Profile That Wins Enquiries

A profile is your shopfront on Measure Design. These are the practical choices that turn a bare listing into a profile customers trust enough to contact.

Your profile is your shopfront

On Measure Design, customers arrive with a design concept and then go looking for the materials to build it. They compare suppliers the way they compare kitchens: quickly, visually, and on first impressions.

That means your profile is not paperwork; it is your shopfront. A complete, specific profile gives a customer confidence to enquire, while a sparse one sends them to the next listing. The good news is that the difference takes an afternoon of work, not a marketing budget.

Get the basics right

Start with the details customers filter by. Choose the specialty that genuinely describes your core offering, and list every product category you cover, from worktops to handles to wardrobe fittings.

Describe your business plainly: what you make or supply, where you are based, and what kind of customer you serve best. Vague descriptions force customers to guess; specific ones let them decide quickly. Be equally clear about your service areas and delivery regions, because a great product that cannot reach the customer is not an option for them.

Show real work, not placeholders

Portfolio images do more work than any paragraph. Photographs of actual installations and products, well lit and in context, tell customers what to expect far better than claims do.

You do not need a professional shoot for every image. What matters is that the pictures show real work at a range of angles and settings, so customers can picture your products in their own project.

Be upfront about custom work

Many suppliers offer made-to-measure or trade-priced items, and Measure Design lets you flag those as quote-on-request products rather than fixed prices. Use it deliberately.

If you offer custom sizing, say so in your description and mark the relevant products for quotation. Customers respect clarity: knowing what is off-the-shelf and what is made to order helps them enquire about the right things, and it saves you time answering the same questions.

Keep it current

A profile is not a one-time task. Update your product categories as your range grows, refresh portfolio images with recent work, and check that your contact details and delivery regions still reflect reality.

Suppliers who keep their profiles current are the ones customers keep finding, because the platform can only show what you tell it about your business. Ten minutes a month is enough.
