How Kitchen and Wardrobe Suppliers Can Handle Made-to-Measure Quote Revisions

Keep revised kitchen and wardrobe quotations clear by recording changed dimensions, materials, assumptions and the version awaiting agreement.

Identify the exact request being revised

Give the project and quotation a clear reference. Start by confirming which design, measurements and material schedule the previous quotation used. A message saying change the finish is not enough if several designs are in circulation.

Ask whether the request changes one item or replaces the whole brief. Keep the original version available so both parties can see the difference rather than relying on memory.

Separate changes into practical categories

Record dimension, material, finish, fitting, quantity and scope changes separately. Mark which details are verified and which still need a survey, sample or technical response. This prevents a visual preference from silently becoming a manufacturing instruction.

For example, a different door finish may be a simple enquiry, while a changed cabinet width can require a wider review. Ask the responsible technical team to identify the actual consequences for that project instead of assuming a universal price adjustment.

Explain what the revised price includes

List the supplied items and clearly separate anything outside the quote, such as installation or delivery where these have not been agreed. State whether a line replaces an earlier one or is an additional option.

Do not use an appealing unit price as if it were the total project cost. Define the quantity basis and assumptions, and clarify unresolved items before describing a quotation as complete.

Preserve a simple revision trail

Use a version label, date, short change summary and the party responsible for the next response. A practical summary can say: changed finish; dimensions unchanged pending verification; updated fitting information requested.

Make superseded versions easy to recognise without deleting the record of what was previously proposed. Never assume that receiving a new document proves the customer has agreed to it.

Confirm the decision before manufacture

Ask for the final design, dimensions, material choices and relevant technical details to be reviewed through the agreed project process. A quotation discussion is not a substitute for the required survey and manufacturing approval.

When a customer changes the brief after a decision, pause and clarify its consequences with the responsible parties. Do not promise a lead time, saving or installation outcome you have not verified.

Use the correct Measure Design route

Measure Design's supplier onboarding supports product and catalogue presentation, including made-to-measure offerings that need a quote rather than a fixed product price. Its separate bespoke quotation route lets customers submit a brief for Measure Design to approach suppliers and prepare a personalised quotation.

Supplier and installer onboarding are currently free to join according to the present onboarding copy; review the latest terms before joining. This does not imply permanent free services, an agreed marketplace commission or guaranteed enquiries, orders or jobs. Suppliers should describe real capability, and installers follow their own application and verification process.
